Overview
The Shared Plate is a mobile-first ledger for bachelors and shared households in Dhaka. It organizes shared rent, maid bills, bazar, meals, guest meals, absences, inventory, wallet advances, partial expenses, reports, and final settlements.
Problem
Shared living costs are easy to record but hard to settle fairly. Meal counts, guest meals, absences, partial expenses, and individual bazar contributions create a calculation problem that simple notes or spreadsheets do not solve well.
Engineering approach
- Supabase Auth with protected routes, Google sign-in support, role controls, and admin-managed invitations.
- A ledger model that combines rent, maid share, meal costs, bazar contributions, partial expenses, and wallet balances.
- Monthly navigation and locking to preserve historical records.
- Smart settlement suggestions to reduce unnecessary back-and-forth payments.
Key capabilities
Members can track daily meals, guest meals, absences, bazar purchases, inventory, and contribution balances. Administrators can invite members, save monthly reports, and use browser print flows to create PDFs.
